Outreach strategy consultation and implementation
Much work in the voluntary and community sectors is focused on supposed ‘hard-to-reach groups’. We believe that this term is misleading and most often, the methods and channels used to reach these groups are at the core of the problem. Having collectively seen several different sides of such situations, we are keen to work with organisations to ensure they recognise the day-to-day assumptions that can often push-away people from the communities they are trying to support. Our network has had direct experience working with a range of groups, typically labelled ‘hard-to-reach’, and have continuously found that different methods of outreach, communication and interaction can vastly improve the relationships between organisations and people in the communities they serve. We thrive when we can work closely with organisations to ensure their services are able to reach those who are often most in need of them, rather than simply working with those who are easiest to connect with, as can often be the case.
